Mike In Barrie

Despite the title, that is not actually a Gay porno movie title. Nor am I starring in one... I was up visiting my buddy Rob (formerly known as Bob) in the town he now lives. It is about one hour north of Toronto, depending on how crap the drive is. Which can be really affected by weather, and overall traffic volume. There are a lot of people who live up here and commute down south to Toronto.

Anyhow, barrie is a nice little place, that sits on Lake Simcoe. It was pretty cold, and did get a lot of snow in the last couple of days. As you can see in the picture. It is amazing to see how different the weather is just one hour away.

New MacBook

So about two weeks ago I ordered a new MacBook. It is a pretty great little system, much lighter and easier to carry around than the old Powerbook that I have. I will be retiring that and hopefully selling it. If I can get a good amount of money for it I will be pretty happy.

The macbook is much faster than the old Mac, and was really easy to setup. The wizards that Apple has really makes it easy to get your old data from the old Mac to a new one. More and more I would have to encourage people to examine the Mac as an option for their home use.

I will do some speed comparisons and post the results here.

Cool bikes... at the Tokyo Motor Show

It was strange to see, but there were some pretty decent bikes at the Tokyo motor show! Here was my favorite. I like the unfinished carbon, it has a really rugged look.

TOKYO MOTOR SHOW '08

I have been pretty bad at updating my blog recently. Which is pretty bad as I have actually been out doing some cool and interesting things. I even have some good photos to show of it!

During the middle of October I went to the Tokyo Motor show with a few friends. We hung around and look at the cars... and some of the other eye candy that they have there. The show was pretty crazy though. It was interesting, but I am not sure I can endorse a trip to the show, at least at the weekend. It is CRAZY busy. With tons of people, shoving people around. Some cars you could not even get close enough to see, let alone close enough to get up and touch.

This year was a bit of a disappointment, as there were very few cars that were accessable for the public to get in and check out.
I think that overall I would prefer to go to the show here in Toronto than the one in Tokyo. At least you can get in 80% of the cars, and see what you like.

Anyhow here are some of the shots from the show...

In Canada Now

Well I am in Canada for the next few days. Hope to have some pictures up to show what I have been up to. Wandered around Costco today, and also renewed my Canadian Drivers license... Along with that I am renting a car to go to Guelph and Waterloo on Sunday. It will be a really good to get driving again here, and hanging out on with my buddies. Looks like a trip up to Barrie on Friday is in the works too.
